Legacy: Rugby World Cup 2015 - Documentary

The Rugby World Cup is one of the great sporting events and the eighth staging of the competition took place last year with England as the hosts. Our film will provide a unique take on the tournament as we will see the World Cup through the eyes of a number of different characters; all with key roles at RWC2015. These characters include the Twickenham head groundsman, a kit man, a coach driver, a physio, a Welsh choir, a pair of Argentinian Tango dancers, referee Nigel Owens and tournament volunteers. We turned our cameras on the media, some of the key players and coaches as well, and for the first time in RUGBY WORLD CUP history we had dressing room access. In addition, we feature insight from some legends of the game – World Cup winners, Wilkinson, Fitzpatrick, Stransky, Lynagh and the great Argentine star, Agustin Pichot.

Chris Burden has just ordered a studio assistant to shoot him in the left arm with a rifle, Barbara T Smith is staging provocative interventions at F-Space, and Paul McCarthy is painting his naked body with mustard and ketchup in the name of art. And among them all, Bob Parks: an energetic young artist from the UK who walks the streets of Los Angeles for a year in a string bikini and sees his burgeoning art career come to pieces. Bob finally moves back to the UK where we meet him as he continues to develop his art practice, and to explore what he calls "the R&B feeling". Against this backdrop, Bob attempts to break free of a constraining and mutually dependent relationship with his mother, Miggie, whose health is failing. As time goes on Bob's obsession with his mother - and her impending death - deepens, before reaching a terrible and tragic conclusion.

El Silencio Del Rio

El Silencio Del Rio

El Silencio Del Rio - Feature Film (2015)

A slow burning, terrifically melancholy drama set in a remote mountain region of Colombia, Carlos Trivino's debut is an impressively weighty, sometimes overly grandiose meditation on the effects of violence on the nation. The events of The Silence Of The River play out against a backdrop of visual majesty, opening up haunted, fearful lives which have quietly ruined and then forgotten; the magnificent, uncaring natural backdrops to those lives sometimes threaten to distract the viewer from the human-scale effects of the violence. Nonetheless, this is ambitious, large-scale film making which deserves festival exposure at the least.
